Tailgate Options Installation
In most cases, the installation of the tailgate options will be done during the installation of a tailgate. That being said, below is a breakdown of installation hours and expectations:
Sideboard installations should be done prior to installing a tailgate so the rear of the sideboard does not interfere with the tailgate opening. At times, trimming of sideboards is necessary for proper alignment of the sideboards to the front slope of the body, and for proper tailgate clearance in the rear. Philippi-Hagenbuch, Inc. does offer Installation Supervisory Assistance as an additional service with our sideboards. For more information, please discuss this option with your Account Manager.
Regardless of the size of sideboards, the following equipment is required for a sideboard installation:
- Lifting equipment (capable of lifting up to 3,000 pounds)
- Welding equipment
- Hand tools
- Safe, clean and efficient work area
- Personnel: (2) welders and (1) helper
Approximate installation time per set: 15 – 20 man hours +/-
2. Fluidic Seal
Fluidic Seals are only offered as add-on options to PHIL Autogate Tailgates. If purchased at the same time as the tailgate, the additional installation time would be approximately 1 – 2 man hours +/-. If purchased as an aftermarket add on to an existing PHIL Autogate Tailgate, installation times can vary widely from 5+ to 15 +/- man hours.
3. Rubber Cushion Pads
